July 13-26, 2025 – Czech Criminal Proceedings
The course will provide participants with deep insight into Czech criminal proceedings. The participants will acquire basic knowledge about basics of criminal liability according to Czech law, as necessary basis for understanding the purpose of criminal proceedings. During the course, the concept of criminal proceedings, its principles, subjects, evidence and stages will be discussed.
After that, the students will be given materials to prepare simulated main trial that will be conducted by them at the end of the course. In the second week, visit of selected institutions (courts, public prosecutor's office, penitentiary) will follow, in order to connect theoretical concepts with practice and to allow students to discuss their ideas with lawyers from practice. Gained knowledge can be used mainly for purposes of comparative thesis and Ph.D. studies.

July 13-26, 2025 – Multiscale Modelling Methods
Computer simulations have become a valuable tool for expanding our knowledge in many areas. The steadily increasing performance of supercomputers or even desktop computers allows us to simulate bigger systems more accurately. However, proper predictions can only be obtained if correct models and theoretical approaches are employed. Therefore, this course aims to provide essential foundations for performing computer simulations and ways to avoid typical errors from misunderstanding employed approximations. In addition to physically based approaches, we will discuss utilising Artificial intelligence methods for biomolecular structure predictions and molecular docking. The lectures will span various molecular modelling methods addressing problems from supramolecular chemistry to structural biology. The course will comprise theoretical lectures complemented by practical sessions exercising typical simulation techniques in each discipline.

This course aims to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of the emergence and popularity of populist movements in Europe from a comparative perspective. It focuses on the rise of populist leaders in Hungary, Poland, and Italy, who utilize various propaganda tools and narratives to consolidate power, while also examining how these movements challenge EU integration and cooperation among Member States. Additionally, the course explores the electoral success of ultra-right-wing populist parties in Austria and France, highlighting their illiberal and anti-Islam discourses. Finally, it addresses unique socio-political phenomena such as 'state-sponsored populism' in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where decision-making processes are manipulated for private interests and clientelism.

Debate as an educational method that enhances students’ critical thinking and argumentation skills. Debate is a formal method of interactive and representational argument.
