#COMMUNITY BUILDING

As part of the EDUC Alliance, a wide range of opportunities are available to the university community, including a mentoring program that fosters professional growth through partnerships between staff members from different universities. The program pairs a mentor with a mentee from two partner institutions, where the more experienced individual shares their knowledge, fostering an enriching relationship based on mutual support and professional exchange.

Louis Brun - UPN : "My name is Louis Brun, and I have been working as a European Projects Officer in the Department of International Relations at the University Paris Nanterre for nearly a year. Through the EDUC Alliance, I was fortunate to participate in the EDUC Mentoring Program and was paired with Roger Esteller Curto, a European Projects Manager at Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, Spain. Over the course of 2024, we held six mentoring sessions focused on the intricacies of European project management. These sessions not only helped streamline my work processes but also allowed us to exchange ideas on the tools and methods used in our respective departments.

This collaboration was instrumental in enhancing the overall efficiency of our teams.

Participating in the EDUC Mentoring Program has deepened my understanding of the challenges I face in my daily work and significantly improved my skills in project management. Moreover, it strengthened the bonds between our universities, paving the way for even greater collaboration in future projects."

Audrey Soukou  - UPN : "My name is Audrey Soukou, and I currently serve as the Welcome Desk Manager at the University Paris Nanterre. Our main mission is to assist international students with practical matters such as accommodation, visas, residence permits, and healthcare, helping them to better prepare and organize their stay in France. Beyond this, we aim to foster a sense of community within UPN, offering reassurance to students throughout their time at UPN. This dedication to providing support is what inspired me to become a mentor in the EDUC Mentoring Program.

With over three years of experience in international mobility, I firmly believe that learning is a lifelong process, particularly when it comes through collaboration.

Although my mentee and I only had the chance to meet three times due to unforeseen circumstances, our sessions were incredibly insightful. We delved into practical cases, shared advice, and exchanged best practices. I especially appreciated the one-on-one format, which allowed us to explore different working methods in depth. Overall, it was a highly rewarding experience, one that provided me with as much reassurance and growth as I hope it did for my mentee.

The EDUC Mentoring Program continues to strengthen ties across universities, fostering professional development and cross-border collaboration while creating lasting positive impacts for both mentors and mentees.
