International Education Week 

Dates: From June 16 to June 19, 2025 
Location: Pôle Numérique Rennes Beaulieu (PNRB), Beaulieu Campus, University of Rennes 

Description: This week is dedicated to teachers and educational staff from the eight universities of the EDUC Alliance. Its purpose is to foster pedagogical collaborations and promote the internationalisation of courses, particularly through peer experience sharing. 

Topics covered: 

  • The use of artificial intelligence in distance education 
  • Methods for integrating internationalisation into courses and programmes 
  • Simple approaches to developing international collaborations in teaching 
  • Using the EDUC Moodle platform to initiate cooperation and internationalisation

European Doctoral & Post-doctoral Seminar on AI for Research & Education 

Dates: From November 3 to 7, 2025 
Location: Pôle Numérique Rennes Beaulieu, Beaulieu Campus, University of Rennes 

Description: This seminar is aimed at PhD students and postdoctoral researchers interested in the applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and education, across both exact sciences and humanities and social sciences. The event will bring together 100 young researchers from across Europe for an interdisciplinary exploration of the opportunities offered by AI. 

Objectives: 

  • Contribute to the academic, professional, and personal development of PhD students and postdocs 
  • Develop skills for the responsible and informed use of AI 
  • Explore the impact of AI in our educational and research contexts 
  • Establish connections with researchers from other disciplines 
  • Share ideas and initiate interdisciplinary projects

EDUC Steering Committee 

Dates: From June 18 to June 20, 2025 
Location: University of Rennes, Beaulieu Campus 

Description: The University of Rennes will host this strategic meeting, gathering key stakeholders of the EDUC Alliance to define the main directions of our European collaboration. The event will bring together: 

  • Vice Presidents in charge and local coordinators from the eight partner universities 
  • The EDUC Board of Rectors, consisting of the Presidents and Rectors of the member institutions 
  • Members of the Advisory Board for Education 

During these three days, nearly 90 participants will engage in discussions on strategic priorities, the evolution of joint projects, and the next steps for advancing actions within the European Alliance. 

 

Blended Research Summer School: Reconstructing the Earth System through Geological Times  

Dates: From June 30 to July 4, 2025 
Location: University of Rennes, Beaulieu Campus 

Description: This summer school, organised by OSEREN and the Geosciences Laboratory in collaboration with the Universities of Cagliari (Italy) and Potsdam (Germany), offers Master’s and PhD students an immersive experience in the study of paleogeography. The focus is on reconstructing the evolution of environmental conditions and geographical features throughout geological time to better predict the future. 

Main activities: 

  • Lectures on topics such as plate tectonics, paleogeographical reconstructions, and landscape evolution 
  • Practical workshops using digital tools (Gplates, Terra Antiqua) 
  • A one-day cultural and geological excursion to Mont Saint-Michel, focused on the evolution of coastal landscapes 
  • Visit to the geological collections and laboratories of the Rennes Environmental Science Observatory (OSERen) 
  • Geo-historical tour of the city of Rennes

International Staff Week 

Dates: From May 19 to May 23, 2025 
Location: University of Rennes, multiple sites 

Description: Co-organised by the University of Rennes, INSA Rennes, and Sciences Po Rennes, the Staff Week is designed for administrative staff from the strategic partner universities of our institution worldwide. 

This event offers a unique opportunity for training and the exchange of best practices in three key areas: 

  • International Relations 
  • Sustainable Finance 
  • Libraries – Open Sciences 

Over five days, participants will have the chance to gain a deeper understanding of the University of Rennes, enhance their professional and transversal skills, and explore the cultural richness of Brittany.

TESE Days – Talents and Entrepreneurial Skills in Europe Days  

Dates: From June 10 to June 12, 2025 
Location: IGR-IAE Graduate School of Management, University of Rennes 

Description: The TESE Days are designed for PhD students who wish to focus on their professional integration and expand their professional network. Over the course of three days, participants will have the opportunity to: 

  • Acquire transferable skills through workshops led by experts 
  • Meet PhD graduates working in the private sector 
  • Exchange ideas and network with PhD students from across Europe
